ADVOCATE ON DUTY
Family Crisis Council (FCC) is seeking to hire a part-time Advocate on Duty.
The primary function of an Advocate-on-Duty is to maintain the safety and security of the shelter while providing services to the clients within the shelter. The AOD must monitor the exterior of the shelter and report any threats to appropriate authorities. The AOD must also monitor the interior of the shelter for maintenance or safety issues and report them as required. An AOD must be trained in domestic violence and sexual assault issues and be able to work with these victims in a caring but professional manner. The AOD will be responsible for the crisis line during their shift and will make appropriate referrals. The AOD is responsible for providing community resource information to clients and assisting them in finding services applicable to their situation. The AOD will also maintain records of all services and activities as provided as well as report statistics as needed.
